It was 3:40pm and the clouds were setting up to allow for a beautiful sunset. My son and I jumped in the truck and headed towards Point Woronzof Park. Upon arriving we walked down a bit and found a nice perch. The temperature was a balmy 28F with a subtle breeze. We looked on as the sea ice moved quickly with the tide. The sky burned orange, becoming more and more vibrant. I enjoyed this photograph particularly because of how blue the water looked near the bottom of the frame, as if it were a coral reef in the Bahamas. During this time of the year (February) most folks in Alaska can be caught daydreaming about a nice warm beach.
